LEADING COCKTAILS:  It may be controversial to categorise cocktails into 'the best', as it all comes down to preference, however, studies are showing that the following; Margarita, Cosmopolitan, Negroni, and the Espresso Martini, are the worlds current favourite cocktails. Let's take a look into what these cocktails consist of, a background story and what could be making these specific mixtures so popular. 1. THE MARGARITA                                                           A member of the 'sour' cocktail family, the renowned Margarita requires three ingredients - Tequila - Triple Sec (an orange flavoured liquor) - lime juice, and often served in a martini glass with a salt rim.  This worldly classic has remained one of the most highly demanded cocktails since its ideation.    HISTORY OF MIXOLOGY : ORIGN STORY   The origin of the cocktail ventures back as early as the 1800s when the concept was introduced and ever since its inception, the cocktail has had a fluctuation of flavours and trends, but remains consistently popular and enjoyed by many. Cocktails have evidently evolved throughout the years as each decade made the creation its own, yet its never lost its original, visionary touch. Mid 19th century, was the era of magnified popularisation of cocktails, which is believed to have been pioneered by bartender and saloon owner, Jerry Thomas, who to this day is often considered to be the founder of mixology. Thomas’s early research and dedicated practice of trial and error is hugely responsible for the establishment of many of the rules and conventions of cocktail creation still being practised today.
